After he escapes the darkness he can only see in gray-scale. So he swears vengeance, hiding himself in cloth he only knows is red because the shopkeeper said so.

And then he sees the red of his daughter's hair and the blue of her eyes, and smiles.

My unit is deploying to El Salvador in June. I graduate AIT in July, and may or may not be going to join them. If I do go, it will be our base, so if I do go down range, it'll be for a month at most. Yay?
On another note, for the first time in 4 months, I woke up at a reasonable hour. Usually wake up is at 0400. Today I woke up ans 0930. Fuck yeah.

Obama has the 270 electoral college votes needed to win the election. :)

Then again, I wasn't expecting anything different. After all, I know hardcore Republicans who said that they were voting for Obama the minute Sarah Palin was announced as McCain's running mate. 'Cause she's one dumbfuck.

However, I don't think I'll be getting any sleep tonight. I go to Penn State. Just about every student I know voted Obama, and here, that means huge parties all around. (We're the #2 party school in the country, and damn proud of it. We have parties for everything.)

The Sues in this fic are based after all of the Mary Sues I've seen about NC/0 on the pit. They have ludicrously impossible zoids, and generally try to upstage the canon characters in every way. But in the end, they get what's coming to them. The PPC make a cameo appearance.

My dad put up this video on his website which is hilarious because the guy in it is just that stupid. There's nothing else you can really say about it.




I mean honestly. Who goes into a casino and decides that betting pot is a good idea?? I hope he never has kids......




Another example of going for a Darwin Award is this kid who went to an amusement park, climbed over two fences into a restricted area, and got his head kicked off when the roller coaster passed over his head. Seriously, I used to work as a ride supervisor at an amusement park (not the same one) and I dealt with a lot of stupid people, but that just takes the cake. Restricted areas are restricted  for a reason. Not even employees are allowed in them when the rides are operating, so what the hell was this kid thinking? And what's worse is that this kid's parents are going to sue the park and win a huge amount of money because people feel sorry for them, even though it was the kid's stupidity that got him killed. Not to mention they'll probably also get sued by the guy who's foot was in the wrong place at the wrong time. His legs were probably broken from the impact, and the sheer trauma of knowing that you kicked someone's head off mean that he's going to get a hefty sum from the park as well.

Is it horrible that I think the parents should be sued for having such a stupid son?

Both this and chapter 1 were written about 4 years ago, so the writing is definitely not up to my current skill level... -_-

This is a fanfic that I wrote as a sort of alternate POV to Order of the Phoenix. My OC will never actually meet Harry (she's not even in the same house). It's more to show how the other students and houses were affected by Umbridge, Voldemort, and the events of Harry's fifth year. I stuck a blatant Mary Sue in there mainly to amuse myself. She gets sorted into Hufflepuff because the sorting hat couldn't think of anywhere else to put her (unfortunately, Sparklypoo doesn't exist in canon).

I have just been to the most amazing restaurant ever. It's this new place in my hometown called FLOW. It's a part of the Carbon County Cultural Project (CCCP). They only serve organic dishes and it's all freshly made. All of their recipes are unique only to FLOW. And the other half of the building is an art museum where most of the art is from local artists. So yeah, if anyone is ever driving through Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, definitely stop there.

So...I'm going to New York tomorrow to go shopping.  Not that I'll actually be able to afford anything, but it should be fun.
Anyway, my current loves are Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and Tin Man. LotR is my one true love. Seriously, I've read nearly all of the HoME, the Silmarillion, all of the LotR books, the Hobbit, and I'm about half way through the Children of Hurin. Harry Potter is a slowly fading obsession. Deathly Hallows was really, really anticlimactic. I was so excited to read the end of the series and it was just...bleh. Tin Man is my current crazy obsession. It was pretty good, though Zooey Deschanel refused to show any kind of emotion at all. The other actors were decent, all it needed was a better actress for the character DG.
Anyway, I will eventually have my fanfic up...
Classes start up again on Monday...I'm not looking forward to it. I have a 9AM class on Tuesday and it just really sucks.
